Installation - Step 1 - RPM

1. Open a console/terminal window.
2. Follow these steps to log in as the super user:
3. Enter this command:

su

4. Press Enter.
5. Enter the root password.
6. Enter this command:

rpm -qa | grep hplip

7. Enter exit then press Enter. This will exit from the root user login.

Note: The expected result for the above commands is usually something like this: hplip-0.8.8-10

If nothing is displayed, HPLIP is not installed.

If HPLIP is installed follow the steps under Step 4: Setup your printer, if HPLIP is not installed follow the steps under Step 2: Set up the Linux environment.

Proceed to step 2.
