PPP Opties
Omdat het PPTP protocol, PPP intern gebruikt om data te transporteren zal de PPP deamon configuratie invloed hebben op zijn gedrag. De opties op deze pagina bepalen of authenticatie wel of niet nodig is, en indien nodig wat voor soort authenticatie geaccepteerd word. CHAP word aanbevolen omdat het de standaard is voor PPTP. Echter zodra u de authenticatie activeert moet u het inloggen opzetten voor cliënten op de "PPP Account" pagina.

De opties onderaan de pagina kunnen worden gebruikt om de MPPE versleuteling aan te zetten inclusief de MS-CHAP authenticatie protocollen die standaard gebruikt worden door de Windows cliënten. MPPE maakt een PPTP verbinding veel veiliger, echter het is noodzakelijk dat zowel de PPP deamon als de kernel van het besturing systeem het ondersteunen. PPPd versies 2.4.2 en hoger hebben een native MPPE ondersteuning, terwijl er ook een pad aanwezig is voor oudere versies. Echter de actuele configuratie file opties verschillen tussen deze 2 PPPd versies. Deze module zal altijd de correcte opties gebruiken.
